Site Uptime: You “AIN’T” Making no Money With A Down site

The time that your website is up depends on the web site host.  Good network administrators are a must.  However, to give you peace of mind of that 99.9% uptime, track it yourself.

Yesterday, I called Hostgator and was complaining about my sites being down!  Man down Man down!  They quickly tested worldwide response with a service called InternetSupervision.  The service was able to hit my server from various worldwide servers and report back that it was up and running with good speed.

My issue: Wireless internet connection riding in a car that was proceeding through dense Atlanta, GA pine trees. My servers were fine!

So, in this quick hit post, know and understand your own server uptime.  InternetSupervision provides a free service that allows checking of your server ever 15 minutes for 90 days and then once a day after that time period.  However, with great prices starting at like $3 a month, it is called “PEACE OF MIND”.

Check them out!

Pretty cool feature… For me, I have to “webmaster” all of my sites. So I need the piece of mind that my servers are up.

I am a HUGE fan of hostgator… even though I give them Hell about my sites and service, if you are reading Hostgator, I am a big fan ;-)

    Thanks for your comment Mwangi!
